Outdoor lamps

Outdoor lamps in the driveway
Lights in the driveway and entrance area are a must for the dark winter evenings we have in Denmark. There are many different types of outdoor lamps, so it is possible to find a lamp that both gives a good light, and at the same time adds a nice design to your home. If you have a long driveway and want light all the way, a bollard outdoor lamp would be the solution for you. This lamp is installed on the ground in the side of the driveway, and is installed with a distance where you get an even coverage of light. A bollard lamp is available in different designs and colors, and is a decorative and practical solution. If you have a short driveway where the house and garage are close to the road, then the solution could be wall-mounted outdoor lamps such as IRIS or ARVID wall lamps. Both outdoor lamps are made in a nice design and are available in two models where there is light nead or both upwards and downwards of the façade. This kind of lamp provides a nice decorative illumination of the façade, and good orientation light in the driveway. Another option if your driveway is short could be to build outdoor recessed spotlights into the overhangs of the garage and house. This kind of solution provides a real decorative lighting on the façade and good lighting in hallways along the house.

Outdoor lamps on the terrace & in the garden
When you are about to buy outdoor lamps for your terrace, we suggest that you try to carry the design further from the driveway if possible. For example, it could be recessed spotlights in the overhang that are led all the way around the house. This gives a really nice, complete and decorative lighting, where the red thread follows all the way around the house.

Controlling your outdoor lights

You may want to invest in a motion sensor or twilight relay for your exterior lighting. A twilight relay can be set so that the light turns on automatically when the natural amount of light (lux) becomes too dim. At the same time, it will turn off the light again when the natural amount of light becomes large enough again. A motion sensor has two functions, as it has both a built-in twilight relay and a motion sensor (PIR). This means that in addition to being able to turn on and off depending on how much natural light there is, it can also turn on movement. This allows to achieve a better energy saving, as the light will then only be on when someone moves in the area.
