Why video surveillance?

What to use?
What you need depends entirely on how extensive your monitoring should be. Many of our IP cameras from HikVision have both the option of local recording on an internal SD card, or external recording on a hard disk recorder via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
Many of the cameras also have the so-called POE function, which makes it possible to supply power to the camera via a network cable . This is smart, as you can then just pull a cable that provides both power and data transfer. You should be aware that this requires you connect the camera to a hard disk recorder or Switch with POE ports.
