Use

UNIPAK pack ointment is a grey, highly viscous pack ointment consisting of saponification mixed with naturally occurring minerals and viscosity-regulating oils and water. All ingredients are permitted as food additives and the like.

APPLICATION:
UNIPAK packing ointment is used together with packing twine for packing thread joints on cold and hot water piping and low pressure steam.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
UNIPAK packing ointment, together with packing yarn, provides completely tight thread collections, as well as facilitating assembly and later separation.
The use of UNIPAK packing ointment - unlike threaded tape, for example - also provides great flexibility in connection with adjusting the pipe joints, as they remain tight when screwing

back. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Wrap twine is applied to the thread evenly and tightly in the direction of screwing to its full extent. Next, apply an appropriate amount of UNIPAK packing ointment in an even layer to the entire packed thread, after which clamping can be made immediately and the system put into operation. Any excess pack ointment is wiped with cloth or the like. The above information is given on the basis of tests and experience. As we have no control over the use of the product, trial installation is recommended to ensure that the product is suitable for the desired installation.

The
Danish Technological Institute has tested UNIPAK paksalve on several occasions.
It has thus been shown that by joining threaded pipes/fittings with UNIPAK packing ointment and packing twine, pipe joints can be obtained that are tight at up to 140 °C and 8 bar pressure.
Studies have also shown that UNIPAK pack ointment has no influence on water quality.
