The cut and sew method
In principle, knitwear is treated as if it were a fabric. You operate with a large square of knitwear, on which patterns are laid out as then piece by piece sewn together.
The Fully Fashioned Method
In this approach, there is a greater degree of "design-engineering." The pieces are constructed in more detail and knitted predominantly together at the seams. Depending on where length is needed, special knitting techniques cause the loops to either shrink and grow a bit like when you knit a specific thing for a specific person by hand. The basic element is the same, although it takes place on machine now that it is commercial production.
Milan knitwear as a production method
Two teams of yarn are knitted together diagonally. The front and back differ from each other in that on the front there is a fine vertical rib, at the back the structure is diagonal. This type of knitwear is airy, draped, pleasantly soft and just as importantly running resistant. Therefore, you do not have to fear strings if you should happen that the cardigan gets stuck in a durable material or in a movement in some work context.
